Tampanensis printing and strain difference Project

• Two objectives here:

  1. Making prints of the Psilocybe tampanensis
  2. Learning more about the different strains of the Psilocybe tampanensis.

  We worked here with 3 kinds of Ps. tampanensis strains;

  1). Sporeworks multispore inoculation (Spw)
  2). Cloned Ps. tampanensis variety ‚White‘ (GT)
  3). Cloned Ps. tampanensis variety ‚Red‘ (S)

  The differences between the strains can be seen clearly at all stages of growth, both on the petri dish and also at the stage of mushroom formation.On the petri dish the GT clearly acts different and is to say not a friendly neighbour for the other two strains. It has a higher metabolism and ages much faster then the other two. The Spw- and S-strains have much more in common with each other. On all tree petri dishes they act a little different.

  3. It looks like they grow together, so to say sharing a household with each other. The Spw strain has taken over the Red color of the S-strain.

  Only the Spw growkit gave mushrooms with poor spore formation. One of the S-strain growkits focused more on mushroom formation while the other on truffle formation as you can see in picture #22.
